The Captain’s Grits & Sausage

Firehouse food has never tasted so good! Here’s a recipe from the captain himself & chef, Peter Corte out of Pennsylvania. Follow @thecaptainskitchen for more firehouse favorites.


1Prepare sausages of your choice on the grill and slice for topping.

2Cook Palmetto Farms Grits according to directions on back of bag, replacing water for Chicken Broth.

3Stir in cheese and mix until melted.

4Topped with sliced spring onions (optional) and sausage.


1 cup Palmetto Farms Grits

4 cups Chicken Broth

1-2 cups Grated Sharp Cheddar Cheese

½ tsp. Salt (more to taste)

Your favorite sausage links from your local butcher (chef suggested, Jalapeño Sausage links)
